Without wanting to be a four-cent philosophy, many events in the world necessarily give us food for thought about the future of our planet and its inhabitants. Every day brings its share of horrors, bad news or negative initiatives, especially in the world of work.
So let’s look at things from a different angle today and forget for a moment the approximations, errors, inconsistencies and a few insanities uttered, for example, on social media, to focus on what has positively changed.
Is the world of work really worse than it was 50 years ago?
The level of demand and performance has increased significantly and is generating stress and other often unacceptable pressures. On the other hand, many magnificent changes have been made: improvements in workplace safety, ergonomics, assistance and other auxiliary and computer equipment.
The general framework has therefore changed significantly for the benefit of all. In addition, some of the leaders’ mistakes of not so long ago are simply no longer allowed and relationships, although much more demanding, have generally improved or decompartmentalized.
The infrastructure and resources available are also fantastic in a very large majority of cases, but our levels of demands and impatience have increased proportionately. So all guilty? Yes, to be frank and direct.
New workplace concepts contribute to significantly improving employee conditions by providing connectivity, flexibility, mobility, efficiency and effectiveness. Forget the noisy little minority who criticize and contest any change to focus on the satisfied: they are much more interesting!
So why not be a little positive for once?
